Weekend Breaks in Madrid – Friday. Once you have decided to come to Madrid, you need to organize your trip and make a plan for the oncoming days in the city. Let´s suppose you are coming just for the weekend to the Spanish capital.

Weekend Breaks in Madrid – Friday

In such case, you would be spending Friday evening and night, the whole Saturday and Sunday morning. Later you would probably return to your home city.

Friday evening

On Friday evening you might start going for a walk to the city center focusing on Puerta del Sol (3 minutes walk from Hostal Persal through Espoz y Mina Street). From Puerta del Sol you can take Arenal Street) which leads to the Opera Square where you can see the  Royal Theatre backside buiding.

Keep on walking either by Arrieta or Vergara Streets and get to Oriente Square from where you will enjoy beautiful views of the Royal Palace and Theatre.  There is also a nice garden with statues of some twenty Spanish ancient Kings. Head towards Bailen Street to get to Almudena Cathedral where you can not miss the Cript. From here head through Mayor Street to Plaza Mayor.

Consider having dinner either at Plaza Mayor or head through Cuchilleros Street to one of the many restaurants and Tapas bars in Cava Baja or Cava Alta Streets. You might also come back to Hostal Persal and get dinner at the terraces in Plaza Santa Ana (if the weather is not too bad;) or walk around an pop in one of the many charming  petit restaurants  in the Barrio de las Letras.

You already have some tips on what to do in Madrid on Friday evening. We look forward to welcome you at  Hostal Persal !! 🙂
