Weekend Break in Madrid  – Saturday. We recently gave you some tips on what to do in Madrid on Friday evening and night.  Here we are with some more tips for a great Saturday in the Spanish capital!

Weekend Breaks Madrid

Once you had your breakfast, head to Plaza Santa Ana and take Prado Street all the way down to Carrera de San Jerónimo Street. From here keep on walking until you reach Paseo de la Castellana and Paseo de Recoletos Avenues. Cross Plaza de la Lealtad  – there is a daulphine fountain in the middle of it – then go up through Felipe IV Street till you reach The Retiro Park.

Walk through this beautiful park in Madrid city center, visit inside it the Casa de Vacas, Velázquez and Cristal Palaces, among its many picturesque sites. Take a break in one of its several bar terraces overlooking the lake.

Weekend Break in Madrid  

From the Retiro Park you might head to Barrio de Salamanca. Discover one of the finest shopping areas in Serrano and Valázquez Streets. You might also visit The National Library and The Archaeological National Museum.

Later enjoy a big meal in one of the plenty bistros and restaurants that Madrid offers.

After lunch take a stroll down to Paseo de la Castellana heading towards Hostal Persal if you feel like having a rest in order to prepare yourself for the evening…but we are afraid you wil have to wait for the next post;)!. We hope you like this tour and have a great day in Madrid!
